FAQ

How do I book an appointment?

Here’s everything you need to know about the booking process:

  1. Get in touch via the contact page with details about your event or occasion.
  2. I will get back to you ASAP so we can have a chat, I can check my availability and get you in the diary.
  3. For larger bookings and weddings, a deposit is paid via Paypal or Bank Transfer to secure the booking.
  4. Get inspired! Between now and your appointment, whether it’s your bridal trial or makeup for a big night out, have a look on Pinterest and Instagram to find makeup looks you’re inspired by. If you’re a bride, I also love to hear about your wedding details, dress style and everything else!
  5. Leading up to your event, feel free to message me about anything relating to your appointment – whether it’s questions you may have, particular looks you like and even pictures of your outfit planning. The more info you can provide, the better I can get to know you and how you’d like to look and feel for the event.
  6. I will contact you shortly before the event, usually the day before, to confirm all the details of your appointment with you.

Are you qualified/insured?

Yes! I trained at the award winning School of Makeup in Stockport, where I was mentored by industry professionals. To this day, I never stop learning. I continually invest my time and money to develop my skills, stay on top of the latest trends and innovations and learn new techniques and tricks.

I am fully insured through Professional Beauty.

What products do you use?

My kit is stocked with a huge variety of brands, some of my favourites being Illamasqua, Nars, Urban Decay and many more! 90% of my kit is high end, luxury brands because they tend to look nicer on the skin and last longer. However, I do love sharing an affordable alternative with my clients when I think it’s just as good!

Can I see examples of your work?

Do you offer hair services?

I do not offer hair styling alongside makeup. I prefer to specialise in makeup application and spend all my time and energy expanding my knowledge, technique and kit, in order to offer the best service possible for my clients.

Over the years I’ve worked with many hair stylists, and have a few talented contacts I’d love to recommend to you if you’re looking to book both at once. Please refer to my suppliers list for their contact details.

Are you mobile or in a salon?

My service is always mobile. Whether you’re staying in a hotel or getting ready at home, I make the appointment as convenient as possible for you.

I need an appointment last minute!

Please give me a ring or text on 07817480867 – that’s the quickest way to get hold of me and I’ll try my best to fit you in. If I can’t, I will always pass on details of another makeup artist I’ve worked with, to try and help you find someone else.

How far do you travel?

I’m based in Bolton and mainly cover the North West. Although I do travel further for weddings if required! (Additional travel fees apply outside a 20 mile radius of Bolton).

Do I need to pay a deposit?

For all large bookings and bridal makeup, I require a deposit. This is non-refundable, taken off the final balance and secures the date and time of your booking, giving you extra peace of mind. During busier periods like Christmas and New Year, all bookings require a deposit.

Deposits can be paid via bank transfer or Paypal. For weddings, they can also be paid in cash at your trial.

Will my makeup last all day/night?

Yes! All the products in my kit are tried and tested to last, and nothing new goes in the kit until I’m absolutely sure it’s got the longevity I need. My clients often have a 12+ hour day ahead of them and everyone reports back their makeup stayed looking flawless.

With the exception of a lipstick touch up after food, your makeup will not budge. Clients with oily skin may like to use blotting papers or powder after several hours to reduce shine in photographs, but the foundation itself will not budge.

With a few secret weapons in my makeup kit, be rest assured your look will last as long as you do!

Should I have a trial?

I always recommend brides have a trial. Your wedding day is one of the biggest days of your life, and most brides will agree they want their look to be absolutely perfect. To achieve this takes a lot of planning, consultation and collaboration between us. This all happens at your trial!

Trials are also available for Proms and other Occasions, should you require one.

How far in advance do I need to book?

I am incredibly lucky that each year gets busier, so as soon as you’re decided I’d recommend getting in touch. This means we can sort out the deposit, and I can secure your date in the diary – one less thing ticked off your list!

Most brides book 6-12 months in advance, particularly during the busiest times of year around Spring and Summer.

For evening bookings around Christmas and New Year, at least a month in advance is recommended to get the slot you need. I hate to turn people away so don’t leave it too late!

Will you have the right colours for me?

I stock a huge variety of colours in my kit, along with foundation shades to suit all skin tones and ethnicities. So don’t worry, I will have the colours to suit you, and will spend time at the beginning of the consultation making sure to find your perfect shade match.

I’m having a spray tan before my event!

As a tan lover myself, I don’t blame you :) If it’s after a trial, just let me know so I can keep it in mind to adjust on the day. It’s very simple to darken your usual shade, so don’t worry!

I have sensitive skin!

I stock gentle, fragrance and alcohol free skincare in my kit that is 9 times out of 10 great with sensitive skin clients. However, do let me know if you have any allergies or sensitivities to particular ingredients or brands – and feel free to bring your own skincare routine to the appointment for extra peace of mind.

Can you recommend other wedding suppliers? (photographers, hair stylists, venues, etc.)

Yes! I have a list of people I can wholeheartedly recommend, having seen first hand the talent and hard work that goes into what they do. You can find that list here including links and contact details for them. Let them know I sent you!
